Abel Prize to Andrew Wiles for proof of Fermat’s Last theorem

Sir Andrew Wiles has been awarded the Abel Prize by the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters for his proof of Fermat’s Last Theorem, which he published in 1994.

Fermat’s last theorem states that “no three positive integers a, b, and c satisfy the equation a^n + b^n = c^n for any integer n>2”.

Andrew won six million Norwegian Krone as the prize money.
